What is cancer?
Our body needs new cells to grow. Our body keeps creating new cells continuously. Along with this, the work of repairing old cells and completely eliminating damaged cells also takes place in the body.
Cell division in the body occurs in a definite line. There are some check points in the body to control cell division. These checkpoints ensure that all cell division occurring during mitosis and meiosis (cell division cycle) occurs within a specific time period.
In case of cancer, this definite outline starts getting affected. Check points fail and cells begin to divide uncontrollably. In this way, extra cells start forming in the body which are called cancer cells. This condition is called cancer. Cancer is a disease in the body that affects cell division.
