Brain stroke reasons||
The risk of stroke is increasing globally. Till a few decades ago, it was known as a problem associated with aging, however now the younger population is also becoming its victim. According to World Health Organization (WHO) data, every year more than 1.5 crore people become victims of stroke and about 50 lakh people die. According to statistics, approximately 70,000 Americans under the age of 45 have a stroke. This risk increases over time to about 10 to 15 percent of adults.

World Stroke Day is celebrated every year on 29 October to raise awareness about the prevention and treatment of increased risks of stroke and to ensure better care for stroke victims.

The big question regarding stroke is why are the youth becoming victims of it and what measures can be taken to prevent it?

There are two types of stroke

Health experts explain, there are two types of strokes: ischemic and hemorrhagic. The most commonly reported cases are ischemic strokes that result from the formation of blood clots in an artery leading to the brain. Hemorrhagic stroke, on the other hand, occurs when a blood vessel bursts in or near the brain.

Due to many bad habits of our lifestyle, blood vessels can get blocked, regarding which everyone should be careful.

Causes of stroke in youth

The major risk factors for increased risk of stroke in young adults include unhealthy lifestyle, smoking and alcohol consumption, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The risk is also seen to be higher in people whose family has had a stroke.

Health experts say that people with certain health problems such as migraine and heart disease may also have a higher risk of stroke.

Migraine patients should take caution

Researchers say it is not proven that migraine directly causes stroke, although if you have migraine, you may have a slightly higher risk of stroke. Both stroke and migraine are brain problems and sometimes the symptoms of migraine can be similar to those of stroke.

Health experts say, people suffering from migraine who also smoke have a higher risk of stroke.

Be alert even if you have heart problem

People who have heart problems or who are born with this problem are also at higher risk of having a stroke. Blood clots can cause problems for both the heart and blood vessels in the brain and can also increase the risk of heart attack. Health experts say that people who have heart problems need to be alert about stroke.
