Age 105 Years. Now cleared Class 4th Exam



Bhagirathi Amma, a 105-year-old woman from Parakulam in Kollam Kerala India, has passed the fourth standard examination with 74.5% marks. He did this exam in November last year. With this, she has become the literacy mission of Kerala and possibly the oldest educated woman in the country, who has passed and passed the exam at this age.

Bhagirathi scored 205 out of 275 marks in the fourth grade equivalent examination, under the state's literacy mission. She got 75 out of 75 marks in Maths. There were four subjects in this exam. Malayalam, Namalmal Namamaku Chatum (What's Around Us), English and Maths. She got 30 marks out of 50 in English and 50-50 marks in Malayalam and Namalmal Namamku Chatum. Mission Director PS Srikala congratulated her at her  home. Srikala said that she wished to pass the examination of class 10 equivalent. Before the examination in November last year, it was said that now there was time to study.

6 children and 16 grandchildren -
Bhagirathi has 6 children and 16 grandchildren. Bhagirathi's mother passed away at the age of nine. After this, she left school in class III to nurture siblings. Now that all her children got married, she took the test with the help of Kerala Literacy Mission.
Bhagirathi Amma has four daughters and two sons. One of her children and three of 16 grandchildren have died. Bhagirathi's husband died 70 years ago. She always wanted to study but could not do so due to family responsibilities.

Good ability to remember even at age 105-
CK Pradeep Kumar, District Coordinator of the State Literacy Mission, told in November, "They are truly an inspiration for people wanting to learn. They have a good ability to remember and listen. It made them easy to study." The mission helps the illiterate, the aged or those who drop out of studies to study further.
