Kandali or Scorpion Grass-

Bicchhu Ghaas|"Kandali", also called the mountain scorpion grass, was often used to punish children on the devilish behavior but with changing of  times, it was found that Kandali not only helps prevent the child's satiety it also has the potential to create employment opportunities and to rein in the migrating. A student from Haridwar Uttarakhand India has proved in his research that Kandali fiber is not only strong compared to other fibers, but it is also cheaper than man-made fiber.

The publication of this research by Mr. Pokhriyal is also published in America's famous Taylor and Francis Online. Research found that Kandali fiber is helpful in making automobile industries, aero space industries, sports industries, fabricated structures, doorpanes, helmets etc.

On September 20, when a research from Haridwar's student Mayank Pokhriyal was published on Kandali in Taylor and Francis online in the US, it was proved that how much of this grass has grown itself in the forest.

Mayank said that he started research on Kadali the Himalayan Nettle in 2013 during the Master of Technology. Which was completed in 2015. He told that in his research he found that we can use Kandali Himalayan Nettle fiber in the Himalayan region between Uttarakhand state to make composite material. It is an eco fiber that is a low-density bio-degradable, easily available from a man-made fiber cheaply.

It can be made composite in conjunction with Palmer. Its fiber is the strongest fiber in the category of best fiber.

After researching Himalayan Nettle Fiber in the first chemical treatment, it was dried and Ranphars with Palmer. After this, various tests like Tissilate, Impact Test, Weir were tested on this. In which it was found that it is helpful in making various fields like Automobile Industries, Aero Space Industries, Sports Industries, Fabricated Structure, Dorpanel, Helmets etc.

In the past, people used to make ropes, threads, sacks, mats and cloths from it's fiber in areas such as Pauri, Chamoli and Pithauragarh in Uttarakhand, which had now lessened due to lack of information.

This plant grows automatically above the height of 1200 meters above the natural habitats, roads and roads.

Himalayan Nettle, found in mountainous areas, will be helpful in providing employment and prevention of migration, along with helping to improve the economic condition of the people.

In his research, his guide and former Head of Department Dr. Lalita Prasad and Assistant Acharya Himanshu Prasad Rutari Uttarakhand, Bamboo and Fiber Development Board Manager Dinesh Joshi, Aagaj Foundation's JP Manthani received full support. The grass is called Nettle in English. Its botanical name is Urtica dioica. In Kumaon, it is called sisoon. That is the word pure from kumaon. Scorpion grass is in Uttarakhand and Central Himalayan region. This grass is not in the plains. Scorpions are thin thorns in the grass. If you touch someone, there is a pain like a scorpion bite, and a lot of swelling is there. It has also been used to punish the children.

What makes scorpion grass useful?

In Uttarakhand, local people used to punish anyone and those who have a little knowledge of herb, they use it in cure ofr fever, body weakness, removal of disease by mechanism, gall blot, arthritis, in any part of the body. Use of spine, stiffness and malaria to escape the disease. On scorpion grass leaves are small hair like thorns. As soon as the leaves appear in the body or any other part of the body, it starts churning, which goes from blanket to rubbing or oil massage. Scorpion grass seeds are used as stomach remedies-

Its greens and vegetables are also made in mountainous areas. It contains proteins, carbohydrates, energy, cholesterol zeroes, vitamins A, sodium, calcium and iron.

Two research students of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department of Sardar Bhagwan Singh PG Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Research, Dehradun, are engaged in testing to prepare the fever drug from scorpion grass. Priyanka Pokhriyal and Anupama Sajwana, who are doing research under the titles of Preliminary Phytochemical Investigation and Evaluation of Ai Pairatic Activity on Erica Perviflora, say that after testing on rats, it is now only to see which solution of the chemicals is possible to get rid of rash fever fast and better Wasted in the way. He says that he will continue his experiment to confirm the scientific treatment of scorpions of other scales in local medicine.

Demand for fresh tea of scorpion grass-

In the last one and a half years, the company established in Chita's Pant Village near Almora has sold 500 kg of scorpion grass in big cities across the country. Annual production is almost four quintals now. Its flavored is like cucumber. Amrita of Karnataka, who belongs to the company, says that six years ago, she had planned marketing of traditional things of the hill residents with the help of Dr. Vasudha Pant, a resident of Pant village of Santosh and Chaiti. The price of a pack of 50 grams of scorpion grass tea is 110 rupees and there is a lot of demand.
